Tavis Craik

Tavis Craik, CPA, CMA
Tavis Craik brings with him over 15 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry. He has worked with a wide variety of firms ranging from large billion dollar organizations to smaller family run businesses. Tavis has extensive experience working with Developers, Construction Managers, General Contractors, Subcontractors, and Specialty Contractors.

Prior to starting Key Business Solutions Ltd. Tavis worked as a Certified Sage 300CRE Consultant (formerly Timberline Office) for almost 7 years. During his time as a Software Consultant Tavis helped companies navigate their way through the challenging task of converting from their legacy systems to Sage 300CRE. Tavis also provided ongoing support to his Clients in the form of custom solutions, Crystal Report writing, and internal process review and optimization.

Before becoming a Software Consultant Tavis worked as a Corporate Controller for an Industrial Construction, Fire Protection, and Engineering firm for 7 years.

Professionally designated as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Tavis provides a unique outlook on business. Tavis has a strong background in the areas of business strategy, management accounting, and financial management stemming from professional schooling and extensive business experience. Tavis also has formal education in the programming languages of Java and Visual Basic as well as advanced Crystal Reporting.

Tavis spends most of his free time with his three young children and wife. Aside from just spending time together having fun they enjoy hiking, geocaching, rollerblading, and bicycle riding together. When time permits Tavis also spends his time flying model RC Helicopters.

Nicolas Sachse

Nicolas Sachse, BBA
Nicolas Sachse joins KBS with 10 years of experience in the construction industry. Within that time, he held a variety of positions working with both larger scale and smaller companies. Nicolas’ responsibilities ranged from accounting to financial reporting, management of large private real estate developments as well as construction and property management.

Prior to starting with KBS Nicolas spent 6 years as Director of Finance for a Scandinavian owned property development group operating in Spain. His broad scope knowledge as an Accountant was initially acquired over a 14 year period working in a diverse range of industries including; construction, hospitality and luxury goods.

Born and raised in Altea, a small coastal town in the province of Alicante, Spain, Nicolas attended the University of Valencia and received a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Nicolas spends his spare time enjoying all the outdoor activities that B.C. (weather permitting!) has to offer. After having lived in Vancouver for five years, he is now considered a certifiable Vancouver Canucks fan.

Deborah Anderson

Deborah Anderson, CPA, CMA, BBA

Deborah Anderson is a CPA-CMA designated accountant with over 19 years’ experience in accounting for the healthcare, media, non-profit and construction industries. Her career has taken her international, to London, England for 5 years and Uganda, Africa for 15 months. She has had experience with acquisitions, mergers, sale of companies; working with customers, vendors, subcontractors, bankers, auditors, bonding companies; internal management and project managers and of course, running her account team. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for implementing various accounting software and rolling this out to various staff.

As Controller for a Powerline Construction company for 7 years, she worked with Tavis and Nicolas in implementing Spectrum into this company, therefore having the unique experience of being a user of the system before joining the team.

Throughout Deborah’s career, she has focused on training up her accounting staff as well as being the superuser of whatever software she was on at the time. Therefore, she has said that making the switch to becoming a software consultant was an easy choice and transition for her.

Deborah grew up in White Rock, BC. She completed her Bachelor of Business Administration through Trinity Western University before going on to completing her CMA designation in 2002. She loves to travel, read, play piano and spend time with family and friends.

Kari Anderson

Kari Anderson, CPA, CMA

Kari Anderson joins the KBS team with over ten years experience consulting on ERP implementations for client’s in a variety of industries such as construction, manufacturing, distribution and financial services.

After deciding to pursue her CMA designation, Kari thought that she would experience what it was like to sit on the other side of the desk and worked as an Accountant and Financial Analyst at a construction company and then moved on to become the Director of Finance and Administration for one of Canada’s largest floral wholesalers. During her time with both companies, Kari was heavily involved in system implementations and process improvements.

Kari graduated from BCIT with a Diploma in Financial Management, completed a Certificate in Project Management from UBC and obtained her CMA designation.

In her free time, Kari enjoys travelling the world and during the summer months, you can find her watching a baseball game or on the water in her kayak or on her paddleboard.

Tammy Craik

Tammy Craik, BA, BEd

 Tammy Craik is excited to join the KBS team. Tammy brings over 15 years of experience in website development with knowledge of several coding languages including HTML, Javascript, PHP, and CSS. Tammy also has excellent management skills which she has developed while running her own business and holding several executive positions on the school PAC.

Tammy graduated from Malaspina University College (now VIU) with a Bachelors Degree in Arts and Education. While attending Malaspina, Tammy also took online courses through BCIT toward her Associate Certificate in Web Design. Although she hasn’t done any formal training since then, she enjoys completing various online courses and she never wants to stop learning.

Originally pursuing a career in Education, Tammy discovered her passion for web development and technology. When her first child was born she started her own business designing websites which allowed her to stay home to raise her children. Over the years, Tammy has enjoyed working with several clients in varying fields to develop a presence online.  All the while, she became an active member in the school community, and was still able to be there for her family and raise her children.

In her free time, Tammy enjoys spending time with her loving husband and three children. She enjoys long walks, hiking, biking, geocaching, paddle boarding, skiing, and just being outside.
